Local schools on the Yorke Peninsula can be involved in the YP Art Exhibition by participating in the School Category of the Art Exhibition. Students who attend a school on the Yorke Peninsula have the opportunity to prepare artwork for possible entry by the school into the ‘School Entry’ category which is split into four levels as specified below.
Entries by the school are free. Each school is limited to four entries for each of the four categories listed on the information flyer (maximum of 16 school entries). The school is responsible for assessing and determining whether the submitted entries meet the entry criteria. Students may also choose to sell their artworks under the same terms and conditions as an Open Entry category, with 10% + GST commission being retained by the Art Exhibition (as opposed to 20% + GST for an Open Entry).
In 2018, we implemented a new point tally system for Schools who have students who enter the Exhibition. The School with the most points is awarded with a $250 voucher for art supplies and a perpetual trophy that is held until the next exhibition. We see this as a great way to recognise the school's ongoing achievement in contributing to the arts on the Yorke Peninsula.
